Asquith Hall and Country Spa

So back in December of 2025, I had the fortune of photographing Mike and Lynsey’s wedding, it just so happened that they were the custodians at what was then Ox Pasture Hall, with Lynsey being a previous General Manager from it’s successful heydays. You can see a selection of images of their wedding in my wedding gallery section.

When the sale went through, I was invited to come over to document the changes of the hotel over the coming over weeks as an army of tradesmen and staff descended upon the site. My first exploration was somewhat cold and miserable being caught in a snow flurry.

After my first wander around Asquith Country Hall and Spa, I soon realised the size of the site and the magnitude of covering it all with my camera as it is HUGE! . Living relatively local to Asquith, it isn’t a chore to visit as it is nestled in the amazing North Yorks Moor national park and requires a drive through the Forge Valley woods.

Each time I visited I could see changes rapidly happening, whether it was man-made or natural with Spring coming into bloom. The image of a luxury hotel was beginning to take shape.

The changes continued at a staggering pace due to the hard work of all the teams and contractors involved. It was genuinely a surprise to see what changed each time I visited.

Getting lucky with an invite! I was very fortunate to be invited to the soft opening of the venue. This was where they had an opportunity for the kitchen to work through the menu, processes to be trialed and any kinks that needed ironing out to be discovered. The room I stayed in was extremely comfortable and spacious, the food was sublime (Yorkshire pudding as a dessert!) and the overall stay was exemplary.

Challenges for a photographer! Like I said previously, the site is huge and the style of the rooms vary across site which is part of Asquith’s charm. Some of my work has now ended up on Booking.com, which quite frankly is a very surreal sentence to type! Thank you to Lynsey for putting your trust in me.

One of the major appeals of Asquith Hall and Country Spa is it’s flexibility as a wedding venue as it has a number of outdoor spots it can use and the Dovecote for all things indoors. The cuisine is first class as shown above and it can obviously room a good number of guests. They currently have a deal for weddings in 2026, where 75 guests can attend a twilight wedding ceremony, have indoor space for the evening and get fed. If you are interested in booking a wedding here, then you can call on 01723 261400, email weddings@asquithhall.co.uk and pop onto their website at www.asquithhall.co.uk
